Domestic Support Service
About us
In early 2007 BFVA was approached by
Bracknell Forest Council, due to the success of our work with
Carers, to provide a service to frail, elderly and vulnerable people
in the community. There was a need to look at better ways of
supporting individuals who required support with housework, shopping,
laundry and pension collecting.
The Domestic Support Service was our
response to this. We have recruited 30 self-employed Domestic Support
Workers, to work in the community, and are looking to expand our
service in the future.
We aim to:
-
Provide an affordable, reliable and
safe service to Bracknell Forest residents, who require support with
domestic chores.
-
Support Bracknell Forest residents
to continue to live independently in their own homes.
-
Support people back into work, who
may have experienced finding employment difficult due to; life
circumstances, illness, age or disability.
-
Support the workers to be competent,
confident and effective as possible.

What do we offer and how much does
it cost?
-
All workers are CRB checked.
-
All workers are insured for public
liability.
-
All workers have had 2 days training
in various subjects, such as Health and Safety and Protection of
vulnerable Adults
-
Workers will complete housework,
shopping, benefit collection and laundry. However there may be other
services that workers are prepared to offer, such as blitz cleaning.
Please ask us and we will try and accommodate your needs.
The cost for all services is £9 per
hour. This is paid directly to the worker, and can be paid weekly or
monthly. Clients can be self funding (i.e. pay for the service
yourself) or we accept clients who are in receipt of Direct Payments.
How do you access the service?
To access the service you can contact
